Boat Engine Anode

It is important to replace your boat engine anode annually, as the material is very easily and quickly worn down to reveal unprotected engine components. You need specific anodes for specific types of water, so it’s best to stick with a zinc anode in brackish and salt water while using magnesium or aluminum in fresh water. If you use zinc in fresh water, the zinc will not react properly and will prevent your engine from working properly. These can be used in outboard engines, inboard, and perhaps even in the engine itself. Make sure you know what you’re doing when you install one of these boat engine anodes.
